BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş said he was "ashamed to be a human being" when he listened to prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan speech on Tuesday. The PM had accused the BDP of exploiting the death of 35 people in the village of Roboski. The 35 mostly young men were slaughtered in air raids carried out by the Turkish army.

"I was ashamed to be human being - said the BDP co-chair - as I listened to the prime minister's speech".

Erdoğan had accused the BDP of trying to handle the issue with an ethnicity-based approach, in an attempt to cover up the reality of the atrocity committed by the Turkish military.

"You cannot cover up this issue by shouting at the BDP. - said Demirtaş - You are targeting the BDP at a time when 35 people were massacred, as if it was the BDP that ordered the warplanes to take off".
